Ten Things I Learned on Utah's Green River

1) Drive with the radio off.  Listen to your thoughts and the thoughts of the person you are traveling with instead.

2) Like Tamarisk, the best of intentions can go terribly wrong.

3) Our civilization may only last about 1 more second in geologic time.

4) As told in the story of Jack Leaf, love knows nothing of age, appearance, status or time.

5) People who are no longer living still have plenty of say in our lives.

6) You can get clean washing in a muddy river.

7) Stop surfing the internet and write more.

8) Some things of beauty were not intended to be photographed.  A camera sometimes does little justice anyway.

9) Although I'm 50 years old, I can still run like a child.

10) Don't spoil today worrying about having to return to work tomorrow.

11) Friendship, love, sharing, are intangible things you get to keep your whole life.  Material possessions are temporary.
